Recently, I have been either glued to the computer making textile designs for my class, or attached to my sewing machine creating my first design of my last collection as a design student for my other class. I thought I would share my finished textile designs, as well as, my inspiration board for my last collection of L&B, Grace.

The past few weeks, we have been creating textile repeats for the geometric, contemporary, and children designs. This time we worked in Adobe© Illustrator©. With this application, I had the freedom of creating my own motif directly from my imagination. I used preset shapes, the pen tool to draw my own shapes, and images from the web. Once I created a print, I altered the color balance to make a colorway of that print. After the print and colorway was created, I then defined the pattern in the application and applied it to a large space, visually displaying the print at 100%.

For my last collection as a student, we are to design and construction 5 garments for a "capsule collection" repsenting us as a designer. I turned to my "About Me" section, on Little Pink Bow Blog, and my description inspired me for this collection called Grace: "...A 21 year old Texas girl who is obsessed with anything that screams femininity: little pink bows, ruffles, pearls, frills, sequins, chiffon, lace, and the list goes on...". I am constructing a pair of shorts, a top, and three dresses. I just finished my shorts, and will upload a picture when they return from grading. I wanted to share my completed inspiration board, and will keep you updated with the process.
