I have been loving my textile design class this semester! After a few days of practicing layouts and researching other textile designers, we are finally putting our own creativity to work. The past few weeks, we have been creating textile repeats for the traditional, floral, and ethnic designs. Our professor gives us a motif, and then we can manipulate it anyway we want. Having this new motif created Adobe© Photoshop©, then gives us the opportunity to have it repeat anyway we want, and use any colors we want. It requires some math (figuring out spaces for the repeat) but I really enjoy the process. This is what I have made so far.
