muse, L&B

For my final apparel design class, we are starting off the year with a design challenge. Alpaca Fashion: create a collection of garments (6-8 pieces) that incorporate Alpaca fiber; designs should offer a creative approach of using this specific fabrication in today's market.

This gives us the opportunity to enter in the Alpaca Fashion student design competition. For my specific class, we have to have 6-8 hand rendered illustrations, flats of each piece hand drawn or created in Adobe
© Illustrator©, create a customer profile, compile images for a mood and color story board, and write a one page essay.

I decided to create a fall/winter collection called "Muse". I was inspired by Andy Warhol's "muse" in the 1960's, Edie Sedgwick. Like I posted here, I am infatuated by her personal style. "Her carefree attitude that exudes from her personal style is what amazes me". I am creating a mod yet sophisticated look; taking certain styles that Edie is known for and adding more of a refined appeal. I imaged my target customer to be as free and loving as Edie, but running around Manhattan's winter weather, full of bliss because she just got engaged. I finished my mood and fabric color board and thought I would share. Right now I am in the process of finishing my hand rendered illustrations, and flats. I can't wait to share everything, once it is all completed!
